Overview
Sagpani is a village in Jawhar taluka, Palghar district, with a population of around 2,100.
The village has been facing a severe water crisis for several years.
Both local wells have completely dried up.
Villagers, especially women, had to: Walk 2 to 2.5 kilometers; Often climb a hill; Collect only 5ā6 liters of water per trip.
Water was fetched from the neighboring village of Dahul.
The situation badly affected: Daily life; Health; Overall well-being of the community.
Challenge
Sagpani suffered from acute water scarcity due to two dried wells.
Access to water for basic needs became extremely difficult.
Women had to travel long distances, risking their safety and health.
Limited water availability caused: Daily hardship; Health issues; Disruption of normal routines.
The prolonged crisis raised serious concerns about the well-being of the entire village.
