Overview
A large section of Indiaās elderly population is vulnerable to depression.
Widowed women and seniors living alone are at higher risk.
Indiaās elderly population is expected to increase significantly in the coming years.
Cases of mistreatment, neglect, and abandonment of senior citizens are rising.
To address this issue, social worker Mr. Pawan Girwalkar established Jeevan Aadhar Senior Citizen Home.
The home was founded on August 16, 2016, in Ambejogai taluka, Beed district, Maharashtra.
It provides a safe, dignified, and supportive living environment for abandoned and mistreated senior citizens.
Challenge
30ā50% of elderly individuals in India show signs associated with depression.
Widowed women living alone face a particularly high emotional and social risk.
Rapid growth in the elderly population increases pressure on families and care systems.
Incidents of elder mistreatment and neglect are becoming more common.
Many seniors are abandoned by family members and lack emotional support.
Elderly individuals often do not have proper guidance or a secure place to live.

Objectives

To provide a rightful home and secure environment for abandoned or mistreated elderly individuals.
To offer proper guidance to elderly individuals who are either homeless or abandoned by their families
To organize and implement numerous activities aimed at improving the lives of these elderly individuals.
To set up a counselling center that assists homeless or abandoned elders and enhances their overall quality of life.
