SDG 4 Quality Education

Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all, especially in underserved rural areas.

In the past few decades India has seen incredible progression in various technology driven sectors which necessitates being not only literate but also active in the digital world. The poor digital literacy among rural population is due to lack of proper digital education in rural schools. The objective of digital literacy is to impart basic ICT skills relevant to the needs of the trainees, which would enable them to use IT and related applications to further enhance opportunities for their livelihood.

The persons shall be able to access information, knowledge and skill through the use of digital devices. It has been seen that the needs of the tribal population in our country who are staying in interior tribal areas and earning livelihood based on forest resources are quite different from general unemployed youth. While the unemployed youth can be directly equipped with hard skills competencies through formal training, the tribals require altogether different strategy as we need to consider their life style, culture, social taboos, superstition etc. some of these are borne out of resource and infrastructural constraints in tribal pockets.
