

Digital Literacy
Overview
Digital literacy means the ability to use computers, mobile phones, and the internet.
It helps people perform daily activities like communication, learning, and accessing services.
Being digitally literate helps individuals stay connected and participate in todayās digital world.
As India grows in technology, digital skills have become essential for everyone.
Challenge
Only 38% of households in India are digitally literate.
Digital literacy is higher in urban areas (61%).
Digital literacy is much lower in rural areas (25%).
In rural India: 53% of households with regular non-agricultural jobs are digitally literate. Only 13% of agricultural casual worker households are digitally literate.

Objectives

To impart basic ICT skills relevant to the needs of the trainees, which would enable them to use IT and related applications to further enhance opportunities for their livelihood.
The persons shall be able to access information, knowledge and skill through the use of digital devices.
Establishing modern computer labs in rural schools and Encouraging safe, effective, and independent use of digital tools
Providing access to technology for students from Grades 1 to 10. Introduced the age-appropriate digital tools and educational software, helping them develop computer literacy
Implementation
NAVDRUSHTI, with CSR support from Dorf Ketal Chemicals India Ltd, initiated the Digital Literacy Project to provide digital education opportunities to rural school students in Maharashtra. These school has fully equipped modern computer labs. There are Workstations, printers, projector screens, CCTV, and fire extinguisher in the labs. Trained computer teachers have been appointed by NAVDRUSHTI
